Recall collects what it needs to run your account, schedule your words and improve the app. We don’t sell your data, and Recall has no ads.
Effective 19 October 2026.
Who we are
Recall is published by F. Innovations LLC, which is responsible for your personal data. Contact us at support@recall-lang.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name, your password (stored securely, never readable by us), and the answers and settings you choose when you set up Recall.
- Your learning: the words you save, your Word Banks, and your practice answers and results.
- What you ask the tutor: your questions and the sentences they’re about.
- Usage and diagnostics: how you use the app, including searches, your device and app version, and crash reports. These are tied to a random ID, not to your email.
You give us most of this directly. Usage and diagnostic data is collected automatically by the app. If you speak your answers, speech is turned into text on your phone, and the audio isn’t sent to us. Recall doesn’t access your location, contacts or photos.
How we use it
- To provide Recall: your account, syncing between devices, scheduling your practice, tutor answers and audio. This is necessary to provide the service you sign up for.
- To keep Recall secure, fix problems and improve the app. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a reliable app.
- To answer you when you contact us.
An email address is needed to create an account. Without one, Recall can’t save or sync your words. We don’t make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run Recall: hosting and storage, sign-in, AI for the tutor, text-to-speech, analytics and crash reporting. They may use it only to provide those services to us, and they’re contractually required to protect it at least as well as this policy does. We may also disclose data where the law requires it. Recall doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so it doesn’t respond to Do Not Track signals.
Where it’s processed
Your data is stored and processed in the United States. Where data is transferred from the EU or UK, we rely on safeguards recognised under those laws, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete that data. Copies in backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Usage and diagnostic data is kept only as long as it’s needed to improve and fix Recall, then deleted or anonymised.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in Settings in the app. This deletes your account and learning data.
- Turn off optional features such as the microphone and notifications in iOS Settings, at any time.
- Access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to or restrict how we use it, by emailing support@recall-lang.com. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- If you’re in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Recall isn’t intended for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
This website
To see how the site is doing, recall-lang.com counts visits: the pages viewed, how long they stay open, which links and buttons are clicked, the referring site, your browser and device type, and roughly where you’re visiting from. It asks first, and nothing is counted until you choose.
- If you accept, an analytics cookie lets us recognise your browser when you come back.
- If you decline, no cookie is set. Your visit is counted with a one-way code made from your IP address and browser and recalculated every day, so it can’t be traced back to you.
Either way, your browser remembers your choice, and the site’s visits aren’t linked to your Recall account. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of every page. Our analytics provider receives this data, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
